Hi, can anyone give me some advice on whether a Nissan X-trail will make it into the Bungle Bungles? Wiill be up there in August. It looks like a rough sort of road....but
well worth visiting. Cheers.

By August you should be fine. It is a narrow, windy and sometimes corrugated road with a few creek crossings, though these should be low by the time you go through. Just take your time and watch out for the tour buses that go through at a rate of knots.
The Bungles are a must-see place though. Aim to have a couple of days there at least.
Cheers,
Val

We were there last June and the track was fine. The first major
creek crossing was the worst, just on the exit, see photo, but you should have no problems. We took our camper trailer in and again, no problems. Just watch out for the idiots that go way too fast on the corners and crests.
We spent 5 days in there and had a ball. Camped at the northern ground, good
toilets and water and fire pit. Remember, you can not take fire wood into the park, but fire wood was supplied when we were there.
Make sure you do the helicopter flight!

Fitz,
The road in will be fine just drive to the conditions and watch out for oncoming traffic.
The only problem you might have is the creek crossings, you should be fine but again this should be your main concern. Stop and wait for another vehicle before any crossing you are unsure of and or walk across and
check it first etc...
My wife and i greatly enjoyed our time at the Bingle Bungles and they are indeed one of the highlights when visiting the
Kimberley.
Travis.
