We were erecting our trusty Northstar 8 at
Goolwa on Saturday and had a look in the repair kit that came with it - the first time in 6 years. Amongst glue, swatches of all the material in the tent and the fly screens was this metal tube:

It is a slide fit over any of the metal poles. The holes in either end do not fit over the pins at the top of the awning poles.
Any idea what it is supposed to fix? Or do?
It has us bemused.
Cheers
Pete

Not sure that that is the answer. None of the holes would fit a tent peg.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I think you find that the repair kit is generic for all Coleman tents eg. not specific for any one style/model. The item you have in question I believe is a tent pole ferrule used for the repair of tent pole ends.

I have the same tent with the same repair kit as yourself.

Nope, it is not a ferrule like those at the link. It is about twice the diameter of the fibreglass sections and a slide fit over the metal poles.
They are a great tent but ours does not get as much use as it did before we bought a Black Wolf Turbo for whenw e are touring. We drag the colemen out for static camping like this weekend.
Cheers
