buying solar panel

Have a look at Jaycar they have a 160W package with controller and everything you need for $680.00 (P/N ZM9303)
plus you can add an additional panel for $289.00 = $969.00 for 240 W system
Thats what I'm looking at havent bought yet but the price looks good in my case they are a local store and at that price I would prefer to support them

Hi Nick. I run a 40L&80L, the 80 as a freezer. For that I have 2x80 and 2x50 BP
panels. Don't know the quality of the ebay ones but the BP ones keep me going.

Think like most things you will get what you pay for. As I understand it Suntech is one of the highly regarded brands, there are plenty out there a lot cheaper that claim a lot, do your research before parting with your $.

Go to www.dkasolarcentre.com.au/ to get independent real time info on how much power diffferent brands are producing - you'll be surprised at the difference in performabce even amongst the name brands.

Kyocera seems to be the panel that comes out on top most of the time and are still made in japan.

Not saying the cheaper panels aren't any good, but buyer beware.

(I've seen the Kyocera 135 panels on line for under $600)

i recently bought a 240 kit from ebay under $500
ive replaced the reg to an onboard mppt
it usually produces about 12-13 amp
im happy with that

See This seller on ebay, great to deal with, heaps of purchaser here and on other camping and travelling forums. I've bought a dozen panels from them with excellent results.
The regulator supplied with the panels is better replaced with an MPPT one but other wise good quality panels.
No affiliation, just a satisfied customer.
