Hi, I am wanting to extend the length of my LPG hose by 3 metres from my LPG 9Kg POL gas bottle to my low pressure 3/8" Coleman cooker, its currently about 50cm long. I have managed to find a POL to 3/8" adapter so have sorted the initially connectivity issue and tested it and it seems to work fine.

Normally I use a smaller gas bottle and just move it round but we are going on a longer trip so we wanted to take a larger gas bottle. The problem is that the mount point in the trailer for the gas bottle is about 3 metres from the cooking area when the kitchen area is extended from the camper trailer. I was hoping to add a 3 meter hose with a 3/8” or POL male (either would would as I have the adapter) to 3/8" female brass cone connector on the existing 50cm long hose.

I suspect these do not existing for some reason or there might be another connection method I am not aware of. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

The longest I've seen are braided ones at camping stores etc, but they're only around 1.5 - 2 meteres.

Sam,

I had a gas hose extended a few years ago by a fellow in a weling supply shop (Weldquip from memory) in Leumeah sw Sydney.

You should be able to have one made up to the length that you require by any gas supply qutlet.

Bunnings have 1.8mtre (I'm pretty sure) and other lengths braided ss hoses. You can get a connector from a plumbing supply and fit the two together.

Hi guys

Might pay to check legality on 'joins'.

We have 3 metre lengths in WA, but I have a feeling you can't join or extend beyond that - safety issues involved I guess.

Hey Sam.

Try your local Barbeques Galore shop first. I wish I had...would have saved several hours ratting through Bunnings, and a number of other stores where my enquiries were met with little more than blank looks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the replies, it certainly seems to be a hard question to answer.
I gave up after the first few shops just gave me blank looks.
The other day I rang a mate who is a plumber and he said he will sort for me in the near future. Once i get a result or understand the issue better I will post something here.
