Can anyone tell me if the road that goes via Gum Flat is OK to tow a caravan on at night/dusk. Thanks.

Good morning Ross
You could pull in and have a look at the Ford proving ground as well on the way through.
I can't help with the road conditions .

Hi Ross

Gum Flat Rd is usually OK for 2wd can get a bit cut up by the motor bikes after rain though. I assume you will be coming from Wenselydale and coming out on Forrest Rd rather than trying to get through Breakfast Creek Rd.
Just watch out for the kangaroo's at that time of day I'm sure they are sponsored by the local panel beater!!
