I need to make some fly screens for my Delica camper van, to go on the outside of the windows and sliding door.
For a good seal I am guessing at some sort of roll of magnetic tape sewn into the edge of the mesh. Does anyone know if such a thing exists, if it would work and where I could get it from?
thanks

If you go to a commercial printer you should be able to buy the magnetic material that is used for fridge magnets and vehicle signs etc. When we bought some we had to buy half a metre and it was I think about 750mm wide. You can easily cut it into strips and attach it to fireglass mesh with silastic.

WE made some for our Troopy's front door windows and they have worked well. We used strips about 2cm wide - its not strongly magnetic so you need a bit of width in the strips to get them to stay attached.

Did you find it necessary to attach a complete ring of magnet to keep the mossies from
getting in between the gaps?

We put strips all around. I think it is probably better that way.

Cheers,

Val.
