I'm about to pick up an ISUZU NPR 250 that is 24v and has a separate 12v system for the trailer. It's been properly set up by a motor vehicle electrician.

I'm going to add a 12 pin plug and video screen so that I can tow my 5th wheeler.

Can I earth the 12v appliances (video camera and earth on pin 10) back to the chassis? Or do I need to run the earths back to the 12v system?

Hi
I would expect that the 12v neg &24v neg would be common earthed , but you would be best to ask the auto elecrician ,who did the set up, if that is what HE has done

Normally I would chase it up with the person who did the work.

But the truck's 1200 klms away and the work was done 2 years ago...

I have a truck with a 24v alternator and batteries and a 12v alternator and battery - all earthed to the chassis - so a common earth.
