Does anyone have any ideas on how to carry a quad bike on a camper trailer? I have a cape york trailer, and the draw bar is taken up with the gull wing boxes, so the only other place is on top. but that would take some engineering to build a strong enough rack. Just wondering if anyone has seen a quad on top of a camper trailer before.

thanks,

John

You could put a hitch receiver on the back of it, a lot of companies offer that so you can put a tow tongue out the back with rack attached, if that's any help.

Hi Desert Storm
This is what I did
The ramps used to get quad up top were purchased from Whipps Ramps(Northern NSW) and are rated to 500kg each three metres long with a curved top.
The quad sits on the boat loader but if you look closely I have chocked in between the camper top and the underside of rack to help spread the load.
Building up the courage to ride up for the first time was character building :-)
I got bogged on a private road down to the frame and there was heaps of room to go before it even looked liked being a little top heavy the motor sits quite low and close to the camper top.
Not the Only way but might give you ideas.

Cheers Michael

Hi John,
Supercharger works great, I've heard that if your easy on your right foot economy comes into the picture but I wouldn't know :-)
But seriously it was a cheaper way of gaining torque for towing until I move up to a 200 series turbo diesel LandCruiser, which unless I win lotto won't happen in a hurry.

Cheers Michael
