G'day Wonbat100
Yes I do have a Spot2.
I have been careful to turn it on and off at the beginning and end of each day and I would say that the batteries were good for about 30 days. I set off on the Variety Bash a couple of weeks back and needed new batteries on the second day but didn't have an opportunity to get lithiums. I used rechargeables and charged them each night and they got through a day - so yes
the Spot 2 is a heavy user.
BTW also have a 3G iPAD with VMS on it ($200app) includes Topographic maps and
Gregory 4WD set plus does tracking with no annual charges. And before the debate starts -the 3G iPad includes a GPS chip - it does not need a 3G connection to track.
In short - much like Ozi Explorer moving map / Hema Navigator and Spot in one but without the emergency messaging in Spot.
