I have a 2003 BA wagon and have a really annoying intermittent problem. Occasionally the door alarm goes off , the inside light and dash icon come on. It beeps a couple of times, the icon on the dash stays on until i put my foot on the brake and it goes way, only to start beeping again when i release the brake . It is weird , and then just as strangely it goes away, not to happen for another few days when it comes back. ITS AS IF THE CAR THINKS THE DOORS ARE OPEN when they are definitely not.I have checked the boot and door locks (but not the actuators) . Any ideas ?

We just fixed a BA with a similar problem at work today. They have a switch in the door lock assembly which tells the BCM the state of that door. The fix is to replace the offending lock. If that doesn't fix the problem then the BCM is faulty. Also check all the body earths as Fords are susceptible to earth problems. Hope this helps
Cheers Allan
