Hi, all. Can anyone shed any light on if there is a quarantine station at Laverton or elsewhere going in WA on the GCR. If there is, is it a 24hr operation or do you have to wait for business hours.

I don't recall there being one when we went through a couple of years ago.

Gidday

There is a bin about 20k east of Laverton for you to dump your Eastern States fruit, vegetables, honey, garden plants etc. Bit remote to have manned I think. we rely on you eastern staters to do the right thing!

Cheers

It was manned on dayshift when I went past in 2007. Might be manned on a rotational basis. No one was there when I went past in 08, 09 or 10 though.

Was there 4 weeks ago and no manned station. Was some honesty bins and signs with a pull-over area on the GCR before Laverton, suppose they could man it from the back of a vehicle but have never heard of that being done before.

As said, it is not staffed, but they may set up mobile check points from time to time. We rely on your honesty not to hydeaway anything not welcome in WA.Entering WA

yeah, 20km's east of Laverton there is a bin, and info board.
The Qarantine officer is there occaisonally. which may become more frequent.
It does pay to just do the right thing and dump everything you shouldn't have. The Qarantine is in place for good reasons.

Cheers
