I went there several years ago on a survey job and was
well worth the visit.
There is an airport which is large enough to land and park a couple of B747 Jumbos.
We visited several of the ground zeros where the British tested their nukes, but beware a couple of sites may still have minute traces of plutonium so is a good idea to wash shoes. I would not wear thongs or sandals at these sites.
The town itself still has remains of the golf course, swimming
pool and cricket pitch.
If you have a walk around a
dingo may accompany you.
It is a place
well worth a visit for its historical status.
