We have the Oztrail
mitchell double. It's a great swag, waterproof ( as long as you season it ), comfy mattress and sturdy zips.
The earlier model, which is the one we have, has cheap crappy fibreglass poles with it, and they bent and snapped quite easily. I believe the new ones now have aircraft grade aluminium ones and they are much better. If I was using this swag all the time, I would have gone for a Burke & Wills, but it only gets the cobwebs dusted off now and then as we have a Van that we mostly use.
cheers Unc

G'day GREENDOG,
Have always used an 10' x 8', or preferably, a 12' x 10' good quality tarp, for a swag cover. Back when I started on stations in NT, these other "fancy"swags weren't available then.
The tarps keep the rain off, and if it sets in, then you should have brought a fly, or tent along anyway. My current swag, which still has a blanket or two, from my first swag, in 1964, can be either single or double, but the Boss insists on sheets, when she wants to share. Suppose one has to make a few allowances, especially when it's a cold night!
Best investment we've made recently was a self-inflating mattress. Sheer bliss, especially on some of that gidgea stone country, down the
Birdsville Track.
cya,
Bob.

We have a
Mitchell Oztraiil Double Swag, to be honest, we dont use it terribly often since we bought the camper trailer but we never had any dramas the couple of times we did use it. Its still in the shed along with the Single
Mitchell swag we also own.

Will the double size swags comfortably accommodate two reasonable sized adults or they only suitable for skinny people? In answering please remember that this is a family
forum.
