When will the
Cape York road conditions be upgraded? I noticed the latest update is 6th May, 2011.

Have just arrived at the top this morning.
From
Laura there is only about 70km of gravel road that may give you grief corrugations wise. There are patches of bitumen in every stretch. Plenty of dust though and please drive with your lights on and keep speeds down.
We towed and old van up here without issue
Cheers
Spero

Sitting in
Seisia right now overlooking the sea. Walked into The Tip this morning. Road conditions are variable, but perfectly doable if you use some good old fashioned common sense. Drive to the conditions, use your lights to help others see you through the dust and SLOW down when necessary. It's a holiday not the Dakar Rally!

We are camped at absolute beachfront at Umagico Camping Ground away from the masses. Only three other camps here as people tend to head for
Seisia, Will walk the Tip tomorrow

Thank you to those who replied. I am heading north next weekend and was surprised that the ExplorOz website didn't have up to date road conditions.
Thanks again, and enjoy your trip(s).....Mark

Is the road from Sudley to Batavia Downs a problem. We aim to go to
Weipa then continue north having taken the aforementioned road in 3 weeks from now.
