Hi all

I take it from the information I am reading on Firdges and Compressors it would be wise to spend the extra money on something with a Danfoss for reasons of

1. more efficient (less power draw).

2. longer warranty (5 yrs against 2 years)

Specific example the EvaKool Travelmate vs the EvaKool FridgeMate.

I guess it was a statement looking for opinions from others confirming or denying it.

Hi.

Basically. The Danfoss is Geman.

Domus.. is chinee. with all the possible lacks in Quality. workmanship.
Hence difference in warranty and pricing.

I have three Waeco. ALL Danfoss.

Have fun

Waeco has the Danfross in their main range but also have a cheaper range with a Chinese compressor, not sure if it is Domus or not. I spoke with a Waeco rep who told me that the Chinese ones will achieve the same temps as the Danfross units but have a 2 year instead of 5 year warranty and are not as frugal on the power consumption

Hi.
I don't know about the Rep.
But a few I know have the cheaper ones.
And they aren't as effiient or quiet as the Danfoss.
In the heat,
Plus DO run longer to get the same temp's.

Macka17, I probably did not say it very clearly but your experience is what he was saying........
They do the job but not as well, Danfross is a better unit

The Chinese compressor is fitted to the CDF-11, CDF-35, CDF-45 and CF-18 as stated in the Waeco website.

CoolFreeze, Australia’s most popular compressor fridge/freezer range keeps your food and drinks cold or frozen, even in the blistering heat and owes its outstanding cooling performance to powerful Danfoss BDF compressors (except CDF-11/35/45 & CF-18).
