A boat dealer may be a good start, but rememeber the weight of the outboard must be included in the vans Personal Load Allowance.
That's the difference between the vans Tare and the ATM.
Cheers, ozjohn.

Believe me hanging an outboard on the outside/rear of a vehicle where it cops dust doesn't do it any good at all even wrapped up well. Wrap it too well and it sweats because of the fuel and oil as well as the water in the cooling circuit, leave it open it gets covered in dust. Dust plus water and oil equals grinding paste.

I agree with Ozhumvee but I've also tried the alternative of storing the outboard inside the camper and it wasn't long before the fumes permeated everything. With the help of a friend (more him than me) I've since had a mounting bracket made up that is mounted on the drawbar of my camper. Seems to work pretty well and I didn't wrap or bag the outboard on the first time out. Looking to get a bag made up that will let me protect it a little better but in the meantime I just use on-board compressed air, followed by a bit of metho and a paint brush to clean up before using at the end of a dusty drive.

I can take some for you of the mount but my outboard and tinny are permanently down the coast these days so I can use them on weekends without having to tow from Canberra. You will need to post an email address or alternatively send your's to me at patrolpete22@gmail.com no au. As a non-member I can't post pics to the site.

We have a flip n easy bracket on the A frame of our van which we use to carry our boat motor (15hp Yamaha).

If you'd like to take a look at our set up:

If you'd like to take a look at where we purchased the bracket from:
