Cheers.

Hi,
I regularly tow my 17' Jayco van through that road. The signs do say NO CARAVANS. As always take it easy & drive to the conditions.

Great, we are down the back on the edge of the unpowered area.
Weather is magic, quite cool. Very green.
Sitting beside the fire pit, awsome.

We went through that road a month ago with a camper, its a nice drive at the moment, a few shallow water crossings and plenty of running water near the road.

You will have no problems towing a caravan through there heading west to east.
In the other direction there are a couple of steep pinches that dont go for very long but towing with something like a falcon and the gravel can be hard to get traction.
If towing with a 4x4 you will be fine.
I own property on that road and am there every 2 or 3 weeks so know the area very
well.
There are a couple of sections that are currently signed advising you to slow down because of the rough surface. It only lasts for a couple of hundred metres but worth slowing down for. Just damage from the floods that has not been finished off.
It is a lovely drive and worth stopping at the Kolan River to wet your feet. You cross the river twice along the road.
Until recently the road was closed for a few months due to landslides in the Hoop Pine forestry section near the village of
Kalpowar but that has all now been repaired and open again to traffic.
I haven't seen the log trucks running for the last 6 months or so since the big rains but be aware that they can be common on
Kalpowar Rd and take up most of the road on some of the blind corners. The road edges are still soft so they can't move very far off the road to let you pass.
Don't tell too many people about our secret spot once you've been through. We like it nice and quiet. hehe!
