This bloke certainly has some ticker by tackling the Tanami in his electric wheelchair :)

Good on him for having a go ! I hope he enjoys himself and makes it without too many problems.
And I bet he doesn't whinge and grizzle if he gets a scratch on his wheelchair like some Toyota owners do when they scratch their vehicle !

Happy Travelling

Sir K & D
One can certainly commend a person of Rob's character.
It shows that some people do have a lot of courage and respect to prove that some thing's can be done!!
But then it is probably his determination to carry out his desired ambition's in life.
Good luck to the man in his quest and drive.
Cheers
Flighty

He was interviewed by the ABC radio rural program & ABC news radio today. What an awesome, great attitude he had. Asked if the track was going to be too rough on him... "I will get shaken about a bit by the corrugations... I'll just have to stop a few more times for the crew to straighten me up and strap me in again (in the chair), and head off again."

Amazing guy.

Ian McNamara aka MACCA interviewed him on Australia All Over last Sunday morning.

His wheelchair has been converted to suit the conditions as much as a wheelchair can be, and has wheels similar to a wheelbarrow.

He comes from a property up on the Tanami, and is a Quadraplegic as a result of an accident.

He reckons it may take him 3 weeks. Tune in to AAO with Macca next Sunday Morning, fo an update on his progress.

It is to raise money.

Not only good on him, but good on the support from family and friends. Reading stories like this makes you realise how really insignificant most of our day to day worries are. Hope he has the trip of a lifetime and enjoys it1 Goodonya mate.
