Forgot to add Main Roads are working on the Cape road also and last I heard it was good to the Archer but a bit rough from there on to Weipa.Dont know and havent heard about the road to Bamaga and the tip but imagine it will be bad.See Rat McDowall at Musgrage he is a mate and will let you know about the roads up there.Sorry Rat is the owner of Musgrave.Cheers

If you have not done that trip before just remember to be very cautious of the Creb Trek if there is any sign of rain before you cross it as it can be very scary when wet.

Mate I am a local of the area and worked on the CREB trak. This time of the year it can be a death track,Red Hill is a slippery slide and the McDowal range will be washed out and can put you either on your side or over the side. The Coast road is a good drive and still needs caution.Council have working on the Bloomfield crossing and is open to one way traffic as the whole causeway some 100mtrs was washed away in the floods.Take care,
