I have chosen Stratos 3000LS and waiting for delivery.
They have fairly low side bolsters and the seat section extends forward for a wider thigh support.
We have tried a number of seats and the stratos suits us.

Hub,

Certainly have mate. We also have the same vehicle and the standard seats are shocking. I looked at the Stratco's and the Ricaro's and shopped around for both. I didn't like the Stratco's due to the spring system (but some people do). I went with the Ricaro Specialist L model seat. We got two and have had them for 15 months now and they are excellent. This model has some leg and lumbar support which keeps you in the seat for the rough stuff. They are expensive but my back is not the best and they are fantastic in my view. We have just returned to Canberra from the Sydney 4x4 show and I was talking to the Ricaro stand salesman and he mentioned that eleven 76 series vehicle owners had purchased the Ricaros at the show.
Mate a lot of cash but well worth the investment as they can be fitted to any vehicle if you trade in etc.

Good luck
Will

The suspension system in the Stratos seats are an option. Mainly for the passenger, a bit difficult for the driver to keep a foot on the throttle.

Hi hubnjo,

We fitted a Recaro seat to our Troopy for the passenger and we found we both loved it. So much more comfortable especially on long trips and 4WD bouncing trips. We no longer have it as we sold the Troopy, but it certainly was a good seat.

Cheers,
Di and Bruce

Both Recaro and Stratos are good seats. I have owned and used both in my time. For my 79 series 2009 GXL I fitted a Stratos 3000 LTSS in the driver position.

The suspension feature made it a better choice for me than the Recaro. I have had no problem with foot on the accelerator. The suspension setting of the seat is adjustable and I have it set pretty stiff.

Doubt you will go far wrong with either seat.
