Hello, Whilst I appreciate that you have paid good money for the tent and there is a quality issue, have you spoken to the retailer?
If they do not address the problem/s then give them a slam.

Cheers

Mark

Contact Black Wolf / Premier Leisure Group directly if your retailer wont swap it straight over. They are very very good with their warranty and will probably make arrangements for you. Sadly the Turbo Lites are not quite as well made as the full canvas Turbo, but they are still a very good tent.

When we bought ours the first one had a cut in both the bag and the tent from someone who was careless with the knife when opening the box, it seems. It was replaced no problem.

Not really spam mate I am just little bit not computer skilled - thanks all for advise - I have already contacted the Black Wolf and the retailer - the problem is that I bough the tent on line and therefore I have to cover all the cost of delivery - I got good price for this tent buy now it will cost me more.

I think if you check the Australian consumer laws under waranty you will find the retailer has to cover all your costs.

See:http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/961854

"When you take goods elsewhere for repair

If the supplier is unable to repair the goods, or cannot do so in a reasonable amount of time, you could get someone else to do the repairs and ask the supplier to reimburse you. However as the supplier is only obliged to pay the 'reasonable cost' of repairs, it is a good idea to talk to the supplier so that you don't end up out of pocket.

A reasonable cost would be within the normal range charged by repairers of such goods, and include:

* the cost of the repair
* any other associated costs due to having the goods fixed elsewhere, such as transport costs."

I can't comment on the full range of Black Wolf tents and the only one I have had experience with wasn't a Turbo, it was a two man hiking tent. I bought it for a friend who was going overseas. He has been very disappointed with its performance and durability - and he really looks after equipment. It would have been returned, but not worth doing from overseas.

What I do not like about getting this type of surprise is that I paid ( I think ) good money for quality product - now I do have to follow up I because got bad one - why do not check the quality before they send it to customers - so how much money do we have to pay to avoid such surprises ?

I know the tent is going to look much worst after couple of weeks of using but this is clearly manufacturer fault.

This is a good example of why you should support your local retailer.

we have used ours 'in anger' many times now and sometimes in very trying conditions. Very happy with the tent.

No product is perfect so best to see this as an individual case rather than a lack of quality process across the whole company.
With the recent recalls of Toyota they wouldn't be selling another car in Australia if the same approach was taken.

Cheers,

Good point - but I have phoned the Black Wolf company and they said that it is my choice to buy on line and now I do have to deal with the supplier and extra cost of returning of the tent - they said that people are shopping around to get the cheapest tent so I have to pay more - am I being punished for buying tent on line? I could not find any shop selling these tents in Adelaide (the company web side does not work) - you right that Toyota recalled cars but how can I convinced company that I have bough defective item and I need replacement? I do not question the quality of tent - I do question customer service - on web site they say - You can purchase our product from selected suppliers - well my supplier is not accessibly -Down Under Camping - it does nor replay on e-mails - does not return phone calls - so I have a tent which can be used but does not have the quality promised - Toyota start recalling cars not after one or two accidents - there was few - if I do not say that something is wrong how can I prove my point.

Hello, I have a Down Under camping around the corner from my place and there are a few around Brisbane- for the excellent range of stuff they stock, they have the absolute worst customer service of any camping store I have ever been to (and I am not a grumpy old woman!). I can only recommend that you keep ringing.

Sorry to hear about the hole in your tent as well. Hope you get it sorted out... it sounds as though you may have to send it one way and they will send it the other for you. To save costs if this ends up being the case, try http://www.e-go.com.au - they are an excellent priced courier service.

Thanks for this people - it seems it is really good idea to share experiences. I have made some progress as finally Down Under camping replayed to my emails saying that they send the pictures of the damage to Black Wolf to “need him to approve any claims on warranty " - well it seems like after all it is good idea to find good shop.

I keep my fingers crossed - by the way - I do really think Black Wolf should invest in marketing - first of all - invest in proper web site where I can search for place where I can buy a tent from- I think they cut the cost and count on dealers but dealing with bad supplier damage the image of good company.

probably their 'cut' of the sale was so minimal through an online purchase they don't want to now throw their time and resources at the problem. Agree it's not good enough as now they get bad feedback in chat groups like this (and they can't put a price on that).

Przemek,

Unfortunately those are the problems when buying off the net. Evrything is fine until there is a problem.

Every product that is sold in Australia is covered by statutoru warranty. However, what you will find is that if the product is faulty you need to return to the point of purchase at your cost. It's just something that you need to be aware of when buying over the net.

But, check your credit card conditions (if you paid with a credit card). Some cards have insurance for online purchases, or if you paid with paypal you can reverse the transaction.

You have a right to be angry if the store you purchased it from is not returning your calls.

I hope it works out for you.
