Hi there i had a tow bar fitted that is braked what is the difference between braked and non braked

Towbars have a rated capacity as do vehicles
The unbraked allowance is 750kg and the braked capacity should be on a plate attached to the towbar.
Thereare also different classes of towbars
EG class is a bar with a flat tongue aNd usually can only tow up to about 2000kg.
An HR type with a 50mm square box tongue can tow up to 3500kg depending on its rating.
The rule is that a vehicle can tow the maxumum of the vehicles or towbars legal capacity WHICHEVER IS THE LESSER.
If you are going caravanning perhaps a fair bit more research will be needed.
Also some idea of what vehicle you are talking about.

Are you sure the word was braked....could have been baked...as in paint.
