Looking at getting a Jayco Outback (not sure which model), and am disappointed - but not surprised - they don't have the option for a Land Rover Defender stud pattern. It would be optimal to have same wheels all round.
If I buy second hand, I would consider changing to LR stud pattern. Is this possible without changing the whole axle and/or
suspension?

I have two Landrover Defenders and recently purchased a second hand TVAN. When weighing the costs of changing the stud patterns versus any real advantage I couldn’t see the point.
You carry a spare for the trailer, so whilst it might be good to have ‘another spare’ it isn’t essential.

I hope i'm not putting the mockers on myself, but we have been travelling on the Mainland for more than several years now, a third of which has been on unsealed roads, and we have never had a
puncture.
So i agree with "The Landy", is another spare essential.
Cheers

If you go to AULRO
forum and look in the trailers sub
forum, there are several threads that I and others have contributed to discussing how to do this.

Surely a machine
shop could modify the existing stud pattern on the hubs or at very worst make a pair of new hubs with the appropriate stud pattern

Thanks everyone. Maybe I am being paranoid. Perhaps I'm best off sticking with the original stud pattern and investing in a repair kit and some tyre pliers for when I ever get desperate. I imagine the resale might be a little easier if I keep them standard, not to mention any warranty issues if I buy new.
