I have just picked up a 2nd hand DP chip for my 2003 4.2TD Cruiser but have no installation instructions. Would any of you wonderful people out there be able to assist with an instruction manual?? Regards, Clay

G'day all,

I too have just bought a 2nd hand DP chip. It has been supplied to me with a set of instructions for a "TUNIT", which the bloke reckons is the same.

I've installed it and connected all wires except one; the grey wire.

The instructions state that the grey wire can either be connected to the ECU or the accelerator cable/s.

Although there is a diagram supplied showing the 4 plugs behind the glove box that are plugged into the ECU, the pin no 35 which is shown as the one needing to splice into, appears to be one of many "blank" holes with no wire in there in the first place...... that's assuming I'm looking at the diagram correctly.

So, I was wondering if either Member John B2 or Clay59 would mind emailing me the PDF file too please?? My email address is : broa7042@bigpond.net.au

I'd be very grateful for any assistance.

Cheers
Roachie

A very BIG thankyou to John for emailing me the instructions for the DP Chip. I have now been able to complete the install and it all works very well. I will have a fiddle with the settings to achieve the best result.

BTW: the wiring loom I received with this chip was new and the connections differed slightly from the instructions and the length of the cables indicated that it was meant to be mounted under the bonnet, which is where I have mounted it. I used a piece of rubber matting (cut to the size of the base of the chip) and placed that on top of the 2 steel pipes (ABS or brakes) on the firewall above the brake master cylinder. Secured it there with 2 cable ties....it's easy to get to the plastic cover plate, remove and make adjustments.

The original ("Tunit") instructions I received with the 2nd hand chip, said to attach the power lead directly to the + battery terminal. I don't like attaching ANYTHING directly to the battery without a fuse, so I used a spare fuse slot on the 6-fuse (Narva) bank that I have mounted near the air cleaner and fitted a 10 amp fuse (although there is no mention as to what sort of current is used, as there is no recommendation to even use a fuse....as I mentioned).

Cheers and thanks again to John,

Roachie
