Hi everyone,
Well not because I will not be riding 110km in the morning (because I will), the reason for my almost joyous mood is that I think that the pause is gone. I stumbled across a funny error in the logs that seemed to happen at about the same time as the pauses (it just took a long time to find) and this little thing is the process that created the site thumbnails for external websites. So to cut a long story short I disabled this and converted the code to use a commercial thumbnail system online and since I made this change about 5 hours ago I have not seen the pause.

Couple this with hundreds of minor adjustments and changes (that I have been trying to make the pause go away) we should be in a really strong and super duper fast mode.

I expect you guys will test it shortly as we are moving into our busiest time of the day (between 4PM WST - 10PM WST is the heaviest time on the system) so hit it hard and let's see how it goes whilst I start drinking beer with Adele and reflect on some of the worst few weeks of my IT career (yes the pause has caused me significant stress).

Woo Hoo - I HOPE.......
David

I cut mine number 2 short even though it was thinning a liitle but really it is not that bad. I just like to use the computers as an excuse for losing hair.
Have a good one.

Congratulations David! In the time frame you mention I have looked at the site a few times and have not seen a dropout or a pause. And its all pretty fast to load too.

Cheers,

Val.

Val,
I think you may have been lucky or maybe I was just unlucky. I hope it is super fast for a while to help me recover some of the increased costs in the hosting charges for the new servers. Have a good weekend.

No need just turn it to the left 6.75degrees and I am sure it will be perfect.
Hope you guys are travelling well - I have been envious watching you moving around on the EOTrackME system.
Still Happy David

Tezza,
Yep got it will get onto that ASAP. I have been trying to get the gallery re-write finished however system pauses and a number of other issues like no site search have gotten in the way. Now that the pauses seem to have gone (still crossing my fingers) I am able to move forward and will get onto this once the search system is resolved.

Just one more as it is still working well. I will not drink after the activity till late at night as I start the ride at 5:30AM and finish at about 9AM so just a tad early for a beer or 6. I did my 2.5Km swim this morning so now is drinking time before dinner.

Just more and I promise I will stop (maybe).
Have a good weekend, mine is still looking good.

Not even if it was to the only bottleshop in existence would I ride 110 km on a push bike. Good luck with that! Good effort on the transition David. Know it's been a painful time and no doubt there'll be a few more bugs to eradicate. Hopefully the lions share is done for you now.

Cheers, Mick

A certain person highlighted a blog bug that I must look at shortly. BTW: It only happens in Internet Explorer - typical... Also search in blogs is not finished but I will get onto these on Monday. Just finishing off a few other little issue right now while I consume beer.

most issues get smaller with beer, god sake dont spill it on the key board and stuff up all your hard work eh, now that would suck .... still have not fixed Micks blogs, there still to hard to stop reading hahahhaa
Hey is there any possibility of setting up the "message" system maybe a little like the lcool site, with the ability to save messages, i would assume the server now has the ability to store it better, i just find it hard to use and not really of much value as for one i cant leave a message on it and get to it later, probally just me but i dont like having to send it to e-mails ect ......
That aside it seems to be smooth now,
Cheers

Well over 18 hours since the update was loaded and not a single pause or slow down in service. I just got out of the pool after arriving home from the 105KM ride which was not enough so I went and did a 4 KM run straight after the ride. I think I can now declare the problem solved. now to move onto all those other hundreds of task but not till Monday after my morning 18KM run.

I think I had one too many beers yesterday as I felt a little worse for wear when I got up. You do not want to know how many I had it is a pathetic amount and to feel slightly hung over on the number I had is a little embarrassing.

Have a good weekend everyone.
