Looking at fitting cruise control to an '05 diesel Hilux. Would appreciate any comments on after market Command and Auscruise models, or any other brands that are performing OK. Also, is there a difference between the performance of stalk type v's button types.
Thanks, Poitr

Auscruise works well on the Triton. Button type on Steering Wheel is fine.

Do you really need one!!

I have two cars with cruise control and would never use them waste of time specially on the Paj as it's very jerky on the throttle control as it maintains speed with full throttle sometimes.

Cheers.

I also have two cars with cruise control and I use them all the time for highway driving.Toyota dealer fitted and i30 factory, both work perfectly.
As for Joe T's comment, why stop there? Lets outlaw ABS, ESC, power steering...

Nothing worse then catching a vehicle travelling below the speed limit not on cruise control when your on cruse control doing the speed limit , only to be over taken by them further up the road, then they slow down and you have to over take them again... and again.... and again.

We regularly see people increase and decrease there speeds by up to 20 kilometres per hour out in the country.

I would be lost with out it.

I have 07 diesel Hilux (manual) with dealer fitted "buttons on steering wheel" cruise control and it works perfectly. I don't know the brand but apparently it is "Toyota approved".

Check over on www.newhilux.net I know a number of members have fitted them but I could not tell you the brand they have used, I have the SR5 model which has it already installed so have not taken much notice

Nearly all after market cruise controls fitted are the Autron, this is what we fitted to our Hilux D4D 4x4.
