Hi all
I'm about to take the plunge & purchase a 200 series GXL TD. I plan on getting the GVM upgrade to 3800 kg pre reg. I found a place called Statewide Auto & 4wd located at 255 plenty Rd Preston,
Melbourne, Vic. They use the Lovell,s
suspension system. (shocks & springs).
I am also planning on getting a ARB delux bull bar, Kaymar rear bar & safarri snorkle fitted there as
well.
I would appreciate any feed back from any one who has used this company or heard anything about them.
Thanks
Cole

It would pay to look on LCOOL and go to the 200ser
forum and look up the GVM thread.
There is a picture of the different types of placards that get affixed to your vehicle when this is done.
Make sure they provide the silver one, as a blue one doesnt cover this apparently.
They have to have a second level manufacturers licence.
Also comments on different
places this has been done.

I raised the GVM on a 75 series and it is an involved process.
The following URL is from VICROADS and tells you what is required for them to re-register your vehicle with the subject upgrade.
Vicroads Req for Vehicle Modification
URL no 2 gives you a list of approved/accredited VASS Signatories the VICROADS will accept. If you turn up with an engineering certificate from somewhere other than listed in the PDF, they will show you the door immediately.
Site Link
So I respectfully suggest that you get one of the dudes on the list to talk to you in the first instance, as a few of them won't, and then find out whats required to get the VASS certificate (Engiineering Cert) for the mods you want to do to your vehicle.
Regards

I am just so disappointed that others haven't commented on this issue, as it is always good to get the experience of other people that have raised their vehicle GVM.
Would appear that despite all the utterances in previous threads re this subject, not too many have, or if they have, they have failed miserably and chosen to keep their mouths shut and fingers still.
Anyway, hope the above VICROAD info was helpful to you in your quest to raise your vehicles GVM.

I think you have already given the best advice possible.
I spoke to a Toyota technical guy yesterday and posted the reply in the GCM/GVM thread.
He said the best advice was what you have given and not to rely on opinions on forums..
Talk to the Authorities, GET IT IN WRITING ONLY WAY TO GO.

I have had a fair bit of work done by Statewide, and refered a number of my friends to them as
well. Haven't had any problems with them nor have my mates either. They done a canopy,
snorkel and
suspension for me. One of my mates done a full fit out and was very happy. Jack
