Can anyone point me in the direction of a blog either on this site or external. About couples travelling around Australia. A semi retired couple. Either working on the road or going for 6 mths at a time. A couple in their 40s or 50s.

Thanks in advance.

Hi oztours

If you can't find enough here, check out caravanersforum.com; most people with blogs have the www in their signature and there are some really good ones - just takes time reading them all O:

I'm looking for my parents they are semi retired (kind of) and are looking at taking the complete plunge. They have just bought their new rig. Very exciting stuff. Want to give them some reading they can relate to. And push them over the edge.... to just do it!!

Then don't let them loose until they've done a few short trips to get the feel of it and to make sure they won't regret leaving.

They have travelled around Australia multiple times. in 74 they went the full way round and again in 04. They have done many shorter trips and also have two trips planned this year. They love it. Dad would hit the road tomorrow. Mum though... she is worried about taking the plunge financially.

Good luck to them, I'm sure they will be fine. Re-assure her. If money gets short just means there will be less fuel so travel at a slower pace, see more and relax more - sounds like a good plan to me. Other costs are similar to at home. Sounds like there is an anticipation of gaining some work too.
