Hi, Hoping someone out there may be able to help.
My Lc100 runs great in main fuel tank but as soon as i switch it over to the subtank it just won't go, doesnt stall but is powerless.
Does anyone have any ideas what i could do to fix, it is a 4.5l petrol auto
Have already had tank out and new pump put in it ,didnt help but cant remember size of pump

Hi anleah,

Sounds as if the fuel pump at the rear that send fuel from the sub tank is not working. Certainly sounds like a fuel starvation problem.

Might be worth a trip to the mechanic I would suggest.

I am not that familiar with the 100 series but I am familiar with the 80 series petrol and that would be my best guess.

Cheers, Bruce.

could also be a blockage in the fuel line to the sub tank.

directly under the back seat the 2 fuel lines come together I think and so, if I am correct in this assumption then the problem might be from the junction back.

Another thought that occurred is perhaps you have blown a fuse on the pump circuit.

I don't know if there is such a thing in the 100 series but would be worth looking for.

Considering you have changed pumps etc then that would be the next place to look.

Bruce.

PS let us know how you get on. for curiosity sake. We might have the same problem some day.

Bruce when you swap over from the main to the sub there is a soleniod operated fuel valve..this allows fuel to flow from the rear sub. I have the opposite problem where the solenoid operated valve actually leaks and allows fuel to flow into the main. This valve is mounted under the flow just forward of the sub tank..
Your problem maybe as what others have suggested--block line / wrinked etc and not able to maintain pressure..normally run at 3bar most EFI systems
