Hi all,
What is the normal boost on the GU 4.2 Turbo?.
What is the max boost that can be safely used by this unit?
Lastly what is the most advantage boost for long range towing with this unit.
My unit has been tweaked to 10lbs is that ok.

12-14psi I thought was std.. tweaked TO 10psi?
What is the max?? If you have a fuel aneroid, 20psi is ok, mate runs that has done for 80,000klms, doing comps and all...
My GQ TD42 with 10psi is ok, I want 14psi soon...going up 1psi made AMAZING difference

Pls no smart comments such as get the mouse to run faster etc.

How do you turn the boost up on factory turbo's such as an 80 series direct injection Turbo?

I've just completed the electrical system of a GUIII 4.2Tdi that is running twin M24's producing 26PSI into custom intakes/exhausts.... It bleep ing SCREAMS!
This is due to some sound engineering.. Firstly, the computer system (a haltech!) watches the fuel intake through a flow sensor on each injector, then it watches the exhaust gas tempurature, ensuring that it maintains average temps not exceeding 530 degrees Celsius. In addition to this, it also has a Co2 sensor and TPS to monitor how rich the engine is running...
What I'm trying to say is that you can get that engine to do anything... If you have the moolah!
Don't just up the boost by getting the spanner out.... Get the boost adjusted up, then get the fuel mixture readjusted correctly by diesel engine experts with proper equipment to measure temps and mixes. Then you will have a truck that can run good boosts on the same gear SAFELY!
