Anyone have any info on Walkabout Creek Road. From the
Barkly Highway just east of
Barkly Homestead to Eperanna to Kurundi and then on to where it joins the Stuart Highway.
The last bit looks ok on the map. I am more concerned with the first bit that follows Walkabout Creek to Eperana
Distances, Road Condition (not worried if closed at the moment we are not traveling till June) Fuel etc.
I wanted to use this road as a detour to the
Devils Marbles on our way to
Kakadu
Any Info Appreciated
Cheers

The road between Epenarra station
homestead and Barkly RH that appears on most maps is closed, and modern maps show this. Is that the road you are referring to?

Yes That is the one.
Is the closure a permanent thing or just seasonal.
Thanks Wayne B

Closed by the station Wayne. It is their road, and my guess is that when they started the Binns track that way, unprepared vehicles were causing them grief.

The Kurundi road from Epenarra to the Stuart Highway is good. It is a wide dirt road; a bit stony but was fine for all normal traffic when we went on it in 2009. It is
well used to access the stations and the waterholes in the
Davenport Range National Park.
