Has anyone been along the Urandangie to
Camooweal road in recent times, just after an update on conditions etc? Generally it was a fair track, going past Barkly Downs, and heading into
Camooweal Caves NP.
We’ve travelled
Boulia,
Tobermorey, Urandangie,
Camooweal previously, and whilst I understand you can’t stay at
Tobermorey anymore (is this still the case?) we might go
Boulia, Urandangie,
Camooweal.
Cheers, The Landy

Hello again,
Road around Urandangi is a bit wet and rough at present, even the locals from Urandangi aren;t enjoying the trip to
Mount Isa and think twice about driving.
Road from Urandangi to N.T is closed, river is up over 3.5 metres, lots of folk stranded either side of boarder. lots of water flowing through the channels still
The country is green green though, mossies thick and fierce, rivers dirty , not great for swimming at present.
Urandangi promotes the local pub as ' dangi desert resort' and the town is working hard to sprucing itself up, a few tourist things and local indigenous paintings for sale . not so sure about staying at the 'resort'- haven't seen it but from photos and word of mouth it's very very basic. Does have a few camels apparently,
Re the
Camooweal caves- not the safest caves to explore and with the recent rain wouldn;t consider caving unless exceptionally experienced and with a group.
Camooweal road was also closed recently, but is open now.
Can;t help you with
Tobermorey, unable to contact anyone to find out.
Hope this helps,
Horseshoe

Thanks Horsehoe...very helpful. Not intending to leave straight away, so will play it by 'ear' when we are under-way.
Once again....Thanks
