Hi Guys
The not so cheap driving mirrors that I bought last year have proved to be a pain. They involve a sucker attached to the door, which might work in the showroom but won't stay stuck when we are on the road.
Which style of mirror works best?
Thanks Richard

c-mor mirrors they clamp onto your bull/roobar and provided your bar doesn't vibrate they are an excellent fold-in -out arrangement simple in design and easy to fit

hi richard
must admit the two photos of their mirrors they have put on their site are a bit of a joke
very poor effort in displaying the product they are trying to sell

Hi Richard,
if you have one of the cars that they fit then
http://www.clearviewmirrors.com.au/default.asp
is the tops. They are not cheap at 600 odd dollars the pair, but
mine fully replaced the existing electric mirrors and are brilliant. They also are electric (top mirror only), and use existing cabling.
No affiliation etc etc just a happy customer

Hi Richard
Had a set of Aussie mirrors on our 100 series as did a mate of
mine on his Pajero. His fell of no mater how hard he tighten them, due to the strap deforming the plastic panel on the door which would with vibration slacken of the strap and for they were for ever coming loose. My fitted great but I was always concerned that the rubber seal along the window would eventually give in. I had a problem getting the dirt out from between the bracket and the window after travelling on a gravel track in rain. As you have to put the window down to get them off I now have scratches on the drivers window. Possibly my fault but a trap for
young players.
I now have a set that fit on the existing mirrors with rubber straps as does my mate with the Pajero. Sure they vibrate a bit but all I need is to see if some one is behind me which they do more than adequately. Easy to fit, small and easy to store and cheap to buy, $25 odd each and they have a wide angle mirror on the bottom to show into the blind spots.
Not for everybody but do the job.
Cheers
Bill

With the Aussie truck mirrors there are two sizes one wide for under door and one narrow for no plastic moulding. Have you got the wide one, if not send aussie truck a email there in
Adelaide and they will send you foc a wide bracket with strap for under the door.
Well they did it for me a whille back.
Great service.
Cheers.

Hi Roughasguts
Have given them away to a mate with a old F250 who isn't concerned with the rubber mould on the door or the scratches on the windows. The mate with the Pajero has also put his in the shed and brought a set of the rubber strap types that fit the existing mirrors. We did have different types of hooks for the bottom of the door his were as specified. but the plastic moulding along the door is hollow and when the strap is tighten it deforms the moulding.
He like me have more problems with the new type of mirrors
I understand the feeling about the aussie mirrors or similar designs, they are strong, tough and and don't vibrate as much but our experiences with them have resulted in looking for a simpler solution, easy to fit and smaller to store and do the job just fine.
Cheers
Bill

Have had my Aussie truck mirrors on for 60,000k on a 100 ser with no troubles so don't know why you have had probs
The window seal just pops back up again.
Always pull
mine outwards from the Window when fitting them and when winding window up to stop scratching the glass.
The ones on the bull bar would be no good on
mine as the R/hand one would be blocked by the A pillar and
snorkel and the pod for gauges on the pillar also.

Richard, I've troed a couple of types of mirrors. The last type was the foldout type on the bullbar.
They were not cheap and vibrated a lot (on a troopy).
I now leave them on when towing but really don't use them much I rely on the camera.

Thanks for the
feedback Guys
We have a Ford Escape at the moment and the clearveiw mirrors don't fit that model. I've seen a lot of cars with the Aussie truck mirrors and will probably give them a go. Am hoping to replace my work ute in the near future and might even wait until then.
Thanks
Richard
