Usually about 3 years minimum after the last one but most of the time just superficial upgrades until a full replacement and new model designation probably in about 6-8 years.
They have only recently released the 150 series.

The new Prado is the 150 series launched in Australia in November 2009. With a model cycle averaging five years that makes 2014 at the earliest before any significant changes to the current model appear

Going by history Toyota will wait until they've sold a bucket load of the 150 Series with the 'old' D4D and then they will do a cosmetic update and drop in a diesel that should have been in it from release. They kept the old 90 series motor in the 120 for a while before dropping in the D4D and seems like they're repeating it again.
We have a 90 series and would love to update to another Prado (and Hilux too) but I hate how Toyota are so stingy with specs and equipment and charge top dollar for it and we still buy them in huge numbers...wouldn't it be great if people stopped buying them for a while and forced them to upspec their range in line with their competitors?
I remember when the 90 series Prado first came out and compared to the Jackaroo and Pajero of the time, the Prado was
well equipped and competitively priced, even undercutting a similar spec Pajero.
My rant for the day!
Mark.

Sorry to say it, Toyota are not now the top dog in many of it's models. I did the comparison, and would go for a Pajero (over the Prado). I have a 200 series and not happy with the problems- oil, tail shaft, and am nervous about the injectors. I wouldn't go another Toyota. They seem to have become arrogant and if they maintain their complacency they will lose the market foothold (in my view)

Dunno, but it'll be over rated and over priced.
