Just watched the DVD of crocodile safari man. I have previously read the book so had some idea what to expect, but video footage is just amazing. There are also many hours of footage that never made it onto the original 4 hour movie or the 130 minute DVD.

If we did just one one-hundredth of what these guys did, the various authorities would be all over us. Mind you, attitudes and laws have changed dramatically since Keith took to the "wilds" in a two wheel drive vehicle.

I have a lot of respect for his (and the two women) gumption and perserverence.

Gotta agree Fred - Only read the book so far, but the adventure was quite awesome for the period and the mode of transport.

I had problems enough knocking about the Pilbara/Kimberley on the main roads in a conventional vehicle even a few years on from that era and would not have dreamed of tackling the territory he ventured into - much less the adventurous lifestyle.

My sense of adventure was much later developed - obviously the result of a sheltered upbringing - unlike his carefree younger days in Tassie. Fascinating read - or at least the actual safari parts were - the flogging of the movie was hard going.

Cheers - Phil
