Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows the distance by road via Anne Beadell from
Steep point to
Cape Byron. When we drove the Anne Beadell and Connie Sue I remember reading a log of a group who were driving it so I am sure it has been done numerous times.
I tried to plot it on some online maps but they were not too helpful with the Anne Beadell, they wanted to route me via the blacktop, quite sensible really!
A better map link would also be appreciated, happy to plot it myself.
Thanks, new to the
forum as a member but I certainly learned a lot from here before my Victoria Desert Trip - much appreciated.
Dave.

You could ask Denis Bartell
He did it in a Suzuki little 4wd way back when they were new.
Probably 40 years ago.

Cheers, currently plotting it on Google Earth, only got Dicko's place so far!
I am thinking roughly 7000?

According to Denis from
Cape Byron to
Steep Point is 5580k the way he did it.
He is publishing a book shortly called DESERT WALKER with all his escapades in it.
Am reading the proof atm.

Thanks for that, I will definitely keep an eye out for it. It is a goal in the planning for me as I wish to cycle it.
Liked the look of the Anne Beadell when I drove a bit of it and then read about this,
10 Deserts so started a plan.
cheers.
