Hi could any of our Perth members recommend someone in perth to service my T max winch it's never been serviced in 4 years and has copped fair bit of abuse in that time so it's well overdue for a overhaul. Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Hi mate cheers for the reply i live in Karratha but i am trying to get time to drive down to Perth to get some work done on my wagon. As a part of the service i need to have the winch gearbox spun foward as the free spool lever is at the back and near impossible to reach without hassle. I think you have to drill a new hole for the water to escape from and block the old one up as it ends up at the top of the gearbox once rotated but i am not 100% sure about this. If your still keen let me know i'll mm you shortly for some details.

To funny River Swaggie when i brought the T Max years ago my mates laughed at me however many years later after dragging them out of mud bogs and submerging the winch more times than i can remember she still purrs like a kitten and at half the price of the Warn. I guess i get the last laugh after all. I thought i better service it as i started to feel guilty after all the abuse. I would hate to see the condition the inside of the winch is in also i need it in A1 condition for my Cape york trip later this year and i dont want to get caught out when i need it most.

Yep you hav the Last laugh....Ive gotta a Warn 9.5XP and its let me down twice when i could of used it,Its been all over the High Country a few times..So ive stripped it down myself cleaned up rusty bits and sprayed lanolin throughout, and ive sealed the motor bit, thinking of putting breather to motor side (why they think its acceptable to allow water over electrics is just mind boggling to me)..I try and Warn people who hav just purchased one to strip it and lanolin it and re-grease,or within six months if its gets wet, even crossing rivers IT WILL SEIZE..

I could buy 3 Tigerz with 3 years warranty, rope and remote control for what i paid for this one.Rather than Warns crappy 1 year warranty and if ya read the warranty, they say get it serviced everytime its under water (laughable)...There should be a big red label on there boxes warning people of this...

Plus i wrote to them and to my surprise, not really lol (nothing, zilch, jack bleep e)...I hope people stop buying there crap and vote with there feet instead of them living of the name-sake what they once was....

Wow thats some nice country you have over there mate looks like a great place to throw a swag out. I used to have a hilux also and have been swamped like you but no winch and no one to help i was sitting there with water over the gearstick scratching my head i end up getting a farmer to drag me out the hilux was fine but i sold it soon afterwards. Now days i try to have a bit of a back up plan its not much fun drowning your 4wd as you would know.
