Anyone know of somewhere that sells it or a publisher i can chase up?

One of my favourite books....

You could try the EO shop, or alternatively Westprint Maps, they seem to carry a large range of books. I can’t remember where I got mine, but I think it was a special order through someone like Dymocks.

There are 3 editions. I bought the 2001 paperback 3rd edition at a local bookshop, but soon after found a 1946 1st edition hardcover at the second hand bookshop in Rundle Mall Adelaide.

A search such as the one below will find you a 1st edition:

Hi Dan
You could give John a call at Westprint, as that is where I brought mine years ago. I have found one on ebay:

Cheers and happy reading as it is a great read.

I came across this source for tracing copies of books. You send the details and they get back to you when they find a copy.

Finding books for sale

I cannot say how god they are, as i only tried them once when seeking an out of print book. They did get back to me with a copy, but meanwhile i had purchased an US version of the book through Amazon. The copy they found was much dearer.

Hi Dan,
I just purchased a copy (with fold out map) from Pioneer Books in Adelaide phone 08-82984654. They still have one copy remaning in stock (good condition) for $30 if you want it.

Thank you all for your most awesome responses.

Fred, I rang Judith (once i swapped the last two digits of the phone number) and she was extremely helpful. Awaiting a return call.

Was hoping to find one local (as in Australia)

Apparently pioneer still have another two of the 70's print in stock.

sorry about the dyslexia.... lol

Dan,
I believe the (some or all????) 70's version does not have the fold out map. Not exactly sure about that though... as I am being told different things by different people... hence my preference of the 1948 version.

Hi Dan,
got mine this morning as well. Great service. Which version did you get?
I got the 1948 reprint with map at back. I am about halfway through reading it, and have also created a OziExplorer digital map from it if you want a copy.
