Hi All,

I bought a Waeco CF50 on sale about this time last year in preparation for my Central Oz trip in September this year.

Having not camped with power for all of last year, I decided to give it a trial run down the South Coast next week where we have power. Got the fridge out & low & behold I have put the instructions in a "safe place" & can't find them anywhere....

The fridge is running ok & the water I put in it is cold, however the whole unit is running as a fridge only. How do I get the fridge & freezer to operate simultaneously?

Anyone that can help with some basic operating procedures would be much appreciated or even a copy of the operating manual?

Thanks in advance....

Is it a Dual-Zone waeco (model CF-50DZ)? If not then you can only run it as either fridge or freezer, not both simultaneously.

If it is the DZ then I'm not sure - but assume you just dial the freezer temp down until the fridge is cold but not freezing things.

Put it on - 10 and see what it does We run our 60 on that and it runs as a freezer and the little box at the side runs as a fridge

I have the 50 and when I run it as a freezer, I put the dividing rack in the horizontal plain above the frozen food. Over this l place a sheet of polystyrene with small sections of the corners cut out. The polystyrene acts as an insulator but the small holes will allow a flow of cold through but not freeze the stuff above the insulation layer.

Works well.

Another tip is to get some Vissy board and lay it inside the basket, that way cans and bottles sit better.

Oh yes forgot to add don't forget about the shut of levels; low, medium, high. This relates to how much of your battery you are prepared to sacrifice to running the fridge. ie the fridge will cut out when the battery charge is still at a high level or cut out when the battery is at its lowest engine cranking level.

Thanks everyone for the input :) printed out the manual & played with the temp settings - Seems to be all going well - "fridging" & freezing as it should!

Knew if all else failed I would get the answer on here :)

Cheers,
