Hi,

Looking for info on a drawer setup i saw on here awhile ago. I think the user name of the guy that built them was captain. I found one page with the pic but i cant reply to it as its archived.

I cant contact him directly as i am not a full member yet.

I just would liek to knwo how he attached the arb air outlet to the drawers.

Can that user or anyone with knowledge of the system reply??

Thanks,

Rusty

Rusty
Try blog ID 1520 if available to you.
And yes the captain has done an exceptional job in both his project and description on how it was done.
This is one of the reason's that being a member on this site is such a benefit.

Rusty if you click on the photos in his Blog they will open in a new larger window so you can see them somewhat better.

Rusty

To do what you want to do is really simple, however if I attempt to advise you in anyway how to do anything I will immediately get 'obliterated' by a moderator. So I have to sit an watch. Just the way it is dude so best of British luck to you.

Hi Rusty,

Here is a pic of the compressor and blue airline. Where the airline fitting screws into the bayonet clip, I simply made a small flat plate to that was secured when the airline was screws into the fitting. Its hard to see in this pic, but you get the idea, look where the brass coupling passes thru the drawer wing.

In this pic, I was using the plastic airline, but have since upgraded it to stainless steel. This negates the need for the flate plate to hold the fitting in place as it is rigid enough by itself. I have a blog writeup of this drawer system here.

Cheers

Unfortunatly I do not have any pics of the mounting and being in the USA at the moment means I cannot take any for you :( However, I will try and explain better.

The airline quickrelease fiitting is normally a female thread that a male fitting is screwed in to(could be the other way around, makes no difference). I made up a plate with a circular hole that was enough to pass the threaded section of the fitting through, but not large enough to have the head pass through.

When the fitting was screwed tight, the plate was clamped between the quickrelease and the airline fitting, thus enabling you to screw the flat plate to hold all things in place - clear as mud right :)

Cheers

Captain
