Agree, I thought they were all "freshies" at Windjana.

New what the answers would be so was not even going to post the photo then thought what the hec.Photo was taken on 29/5/10 and is a real live salty and a big one at that.There was a tour bus there at the time and the driver rounded up all his clients so as they would not get to close and they also took some snaps so this is not the only photo.Frank has a very good camera so was able to take a few shots from long range but was not positive it was a salty until he showed some people he new in Derby the photo.

Salties turn up in unlikely spots and a bigish one was trapped at Parry Creek Lagoon when we were there last year.Winjana also has lots of big Barra for all those doubting thomases out there although fishing is not allowed.

Parrys Creek is a bit different from Windjana in the proximity to tidal waters. Parrys is on a line of pools and tidal creeks only a few k's from the Ord River.

Windjana on the other hand is a looooong way inland and rather an unlikely spot for a 'saltie'.

Then again - I came across camels just out of town going through Kununurra 30 odd years ago - and no one believed me then.....

Still think your mate has his locations mixed up though.
