Good morning,
Off to do the River run next month, I have brought a couple of yabbie nets, but was wondering what sort of fishing gear to take along?
I have not fished up that way since I was a child, so a bit of advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
William

Afternoon William
The best to take out that way is very basic - couple of rods or handlines, small sinkers (smaller the better of no flow) and about 2/0 hooks. 12 lb line is about right unless you happen to hook a big Murray Cod. Live shrimp are the best bait but the cold weather might make them hard to catch so worms are always a good standby. Make sure you mark your yabby traps with your name and address / boat rego number and don't wander off and leave any fishing lines unattended.
Have a look at the info contained in the Fisheries Freshwater Guide. Link to the webpage

If you want I can post 1 to you -MM me with an address if you want.
Cheers
