G'day Mal, I cant recall the name of the
camp, but it is the first one from the south, on a large
waterhole maybe a km long by 300m wide. Unfortunately the
rapidly receding water level meant standing in ankle deep mud to fish, not much fun...lost a large ??? when it threw the lure. The
camp area is about 50m from the water & is only about 300m long, only 3 rigs in there including us, so dont expect much room or privacy in July. One long drop dunny. The other
camp area
is more shady but access to the water not as good. We chose first one on recomendation of
Ranger. Gennies not allowed, but as other 2 ran theirs we did
likewise. To be honest we were a bit underwhelmed with the place & moved on
the next day. After throwing many lures for many hours with only one hook up
I wouldnt describe it as a fishos paradise either, maybe I needed bait. Caught
nothing in Yabby pots either using marsupial roadkill as bait. Birdlife was plentiful
if thats your thing, not very scenic. Sorry to sound a bit negative, but it didnt
meet the good reports we had of the place. Roads all good...one rig present
being a Winnebago thingie. I hope you find it to your liking, but have some
alternatives in mind...cheers....oldbaz.
