The Rodeo is still going strong but it has had one issue from new. The Air con belt makes the squeaking noise constantly now.
New belt was put on at 10k service - I had to pay for it, supposedly a consumable item even though it had only done 10k.
Soon after squeak was back - This time they said that the adjuster pulley was faulty and replaced it under warranty.
Again short period of time belt packed it in again so I went after market and had a fair run before the noise returned.
Did the belt slip spray with the second belt and that led to belt failure. Did the soap to the belt a few times but the noise returned within a short time and sprayed silicon spray on the pulley.
All the above fixes it for a short time and then back comes the persistent squeak.
Any one else with these vehicles had this issue and found a fix?

Did any of the belts break..? This is often caused by a broken engine mount allowing the motor to torque to one side and break the tensioner. If not you should take it to another dealer and have a few of the possibilities below checked.
1. If the belts are wet, this can also cause squealing. If the squealing stops shortly after starting the engine, I wouldn't worry about it. But if it continues,
check to make sure the engine coolant is not leaking onto the belts or it happens after rain periods.
2. you have a loose belt or if you checked the belts and they feel like they have the right tension (about half an inch movement when you press your finger in the middle) then your ac compressor may be faulty and causing the belt to slip.
3. For now spray the driven ( in-side) of the belt with silicone spray with the motor running.
When someone or you replace the belt take time to spin all the pulleys by hand. If one seems difficult to turn that may cause a momentary belt squeal at start-up. In that case a closer look at the source of the difficult spinning pulley may be necessary.

Also the alignment of all the pulleys. Don't discount the fact that perhaps one of the pulleys has not been pressed on all the way.

I am also of the opinion it may be Pulley alignment as there seems to be no other reason as to why this is happening.
Its not a wet belt
Its not a loose belt
Not sure if I like the idea of silicon spray on the belt?
Air con Pulley appears to be OK - Idler pulley is new
Ta for the input

I have not had a squeak out of
mine.
I do think I am due for a re gas as the temp for the aircon seems a bit low.
If it was reported under warrantee and not fixed I would be taking it back and having a chat with the dealer

Hi tony. Sounds more like a pulley or pulleys are not in alignment with the crankshaft pulley. Another cause can be contamination on the pulley surface in the vee belt grooves. Regards,Bob.

Yes I am swinging the alignment way as
well - No contamination of the pulley's but I am not impressed with the match of the belt v to the pulley profile?

one of your pulleys are glazed, noise is not as bad in hot weather?

My Rodeo has a noise like a warn bearing from the air con tensioner pulley. I can mostly hear it when idling. My car also gets a little squeal when starting after the belts are water as mentioned above.
My mechanic says it's just the belts unfortunately. Change them which I did, but it still does the same.
He re- faced the outside edge of the air con belt when the car was running which softened the noise bit, for a while. He did this by sliding the wooden handle of his hammer on the side of the belt, however he could not get to all edges.
I just ignore it nowadays.

Thats the noise Ok! Yes always at idle and it used to go when you put it under load. Now it is constant so I am assuming this belt is on the way out as
well.
Thus alignment seems the thing to look at - Cheers
