Just been to the caravan & camping show in Melbourne and we came across a Complete Campsite camper trailer. I would like to know from anyone who has one or operated one . They look the real deal to us.

It is a "Complete Campsite" camper trailer

Here is the website for them ;)

Hi Pat,

I know they recently won a Camper Trailer magazine award and they have all the gizmos (diesel heater!) but they're expensive for a soft floor.
The Complete Campsite

I looked at the 'new' Trak Shak but I couldn't see anything 'new' to make me update my 2003 model to the current one with $15,000 out of pocket!

Cheers,

Mark.

That is some fancy kit. Looks great.
Wonder what the price is for the Kakadoo

Anyway I will just have to be happy with my old girl not as fancy but has kitchen, annex ect and only cost $5000. If I had the money I would go for something more up market but after all they are only box trailer with a tent and unless you are going to spend weeks at a time in the one place I dont know that a lot of the stuff is needed. Just my opinion.
Cheers
Wayne

We had a look at some hard floors as well (Kimberley etc) but they seem to be restricted in area by the length of the trailer. Sure they have all the gismos as well and cost around the same amount(40 large) for the top of the range. No ropes or tent pegs are a great thing.

Some nice touches but looks a little heavy and not overly robust for heavy work. Nonetheless there are some ideas I might incorporate in mine.

I must agree with Wayne B they are only a box trailer and a tent. I have never owned one and do not feel inclined to do so.
When I first started camping we had four kids, two dogs, a Hi Ace van and a 6'x4' trailer. In the trailer was a removable cage where the dogs travelled but the cage was constructed with a "roof rack" Most of our camping gear was carried on the trailer roof rack including cooking stove and gas bottles. We had two reasonably sized tents, one for mum & dad and one for the kids and it was the kids responsibility to erect their own tent. Both tents were Canadian made canvas tents and not cheep at the time but each less than $300.00.
I believe that the cost of these camper trailers is exorbarant and getting close to the cost of a good used caravan.

A "good used caravan" won't go to the places that a camper trailer can.
The cost may seem exorbitant, but the quality campers are all in a similar price bracket & maintain excellent resale value.

Each to his own!

We had a look and were a bit stunned at the price but they do have all the bells and whistles. Funnily enough we ended up buying the display model of the Mountain Trail Extended Escape model and are very happy with it. Very well built and optioned the price
