Hi Everyone

Its been along time since i have been on the forum, so g'day to everyone.

Kir and i have just got back from picking up our new Ultimate Xtrk. We made our way home down along the Sth coast of NSW to lakes entrance and then we headed up into the high country, back home to Melbourne.

I was some one who said i would never tow, as it is only Kir, me and the dog, but wow it makes everything so easy and comfortable. The team at ultimate were excellent and take you through everything, including the factory to see how each part is made. We are just wrapped, now we need to get into using it, looking forward to catch up with friends

G'day,

Great set up, the camper looks great and so does the wagon, very nice.

I gather by the paintwork you are affiliated with Ironman....therefore a question off topic....I am looking at the Ironman recovery kits, they look like good value, are they as good as the more expensive kits? I see they are nata tested so meet the standards.

Cheers

Hi Ev

I like to leave to forums for my play and try not to influence Ironman chats, but it is sometimes hard as people either see my cruiser or race truck.

With any product it is good to do your research and check off your requirements. I believe the kits are very good products and value. I use them off road and racing. I do work there, so i am just answering your question as informal as i can as i am not on the forums to sell.

cheers

hahaha, good onya Bill....... rub it in!!! hahaha

We've had the Ultimate for over 11 years now; which is more than double the length of time I've ever owned any other wheeled vehicle in my life!!!

That's gotta tell ya something, heh?

We (well "I") did think about upgrading to a newer model and whilst it's true there have been some nice improvements to the more recent models, I can't justify the hefty changeover price just to get nice rollers on the galley drawers and other such frivolous things...LOL

Ours still does the job as well as it did in 1999 so no point upgrading.

Cheers

Roachie

18 days 'til we get ours!!! But who's counting?
Just a question for all you other Ulti owners out there: have you ever had any problems with rocks bouncing back onto your vehicle and causing damge eg rear window breaking??? I'm thinking the shape of the nose-cone would deflect rocks etc away from the tow vehicle, just hope I'm right.
Have fun with your new toy.
Cheers

The second hot is from the caravan park in Narooma, about 30kms south of Ultimates office. In the background is glass house rocks. Its not the main caravan park in Narooma, it is the one below the golf course and right on the beach, grea place.

Ian - never heard a stone on the way home, but we are only new to this game, there is a ultimate owners forum on their webiste, the owners on there would have some better info

I was advised by Ulti that there has been minor occurences of stone rebound, even one flicked up by a passing vehicle striking the stationary Ulti then damaging tow vehicle window. That was bad luck no doubt.

I have fitted a hammock style shade cloth guard laying horizontal under the draw bar which to date (80000kms.) over the worst country, has been incident free of stone damage.

Cheers John
