You have done what I always wanted to do, my problem was I wasn't smart enough in the brains department.
Would have loved to have gone there and done that.
Hope you had a great time and have a good one

I think it was luck of the draw. Spent 4 months down at Casey and got to see a fair bit. I would re-apply if I was you. The 2010 / 2011 applications have closed so it will have to be 2011 / 2012.
Cheers

Yes can you believe it!
Well we did do some work too.
We did get to do extraordinary things though that few have the opportunity to take advantage of, such as ride Quads, drive Haggulunds over to field huts for R&R. Drive through blizzards via GPS for 70 odd kms. Fly over Antarctica twice in a Herc.
Bloody good fun all round.
Cheers

I managed the trades and we looked after all maintenance, new projects and science support. Don't worry I was hands on also!
So the work varied from a two storey 30 room extension to the accommodation building to assisting scientists with experiments in the field.
Good fun and a hell of an experience.
Cheers

A Hagg is slow (30km max), noisy, uncomfortable and I love em. They will go just about anywhere and are very reliable.
As for the fridge, 1hr outside frozen, half hour chilled.
Cheers
