Iamian, Have stayed at Tarangau a few times over the years, most recently in '08. Its a nice park, small with some grass and shade, newish good amenities block. Its only a few blocks from
Cable beach - easy walking distance. Management were very helpful fitting us in when we had vehicle problems. But like everywhere else in
Broome it will be busy in July.
Cheers,
Val

Have a look at this
LINK go to WA and then scroll down to find the park you are interested in. There are quite a few reviews for it. You obviously need to understand that such reviews can be very subjective and may not necessarily give a true overview of the standards of a park etc.
e.g. if the camper had a 'run-in' with management (relationg to their behaviour etc) then they are likely to rate the park badly. If on the other hand someone was
well looked after and everything that was supposed to happen did, then you have a 'happy camper'. Good luck.

Yes, we stayed in August 08.
Dust and leaves were my memories.
We had a bucket to walk in before going into the 'van to get the red dust off.
Amenities block was good.

We stayed there last July.
Very clean amenies and a friendly park with group barbq's , roast nightsetc for all residents.
I think they were raising money for Flying Doctor.
Would definitely give them a ring as it was very busy .
Our site was No 13 (under trees ) and that was a good one.

ianian,
Tarangau is situated on the furthest edge of the
Cable Beach Tourist Precinct.
It can be very crowded as is all the parks at this time of year.
However it is the most modern of the parks. Approx 10 min walk to the "Sunset Strip" and very easy walk to the better bars and restaurants.
More importantly this park would not experience the sandfly problems unlike Roebuck and
Broome Parks.
And to locate just turn off at the tip road( Fairway Drive) as you approach
Broome. After a short strip of dirt (1km) brings you out 500mts from the park entrance.
This saves the frustration of getting your bearings with van in tow! Believe me as I am always directing lost tourists.
Enjoy your stay
Tamery

Hi iamian,
We stayed at Tarangau twice last year found the people so helpful, we booked and the really looked after us.
the place has a lot of grass now due to them working on the grounds, the people running it come over from the east to look after it, we found the place great and close to our needs also quiet from
the beach crowds at night.
A great park good ammenities and as i said very helpful,

Personally I think it was the nicest caravan park in
Broome. The others had swimming pools, games rooms, concrete everywhere etc etc trying to be upmarket. Tarangau is just a simple, friendly, nice park with shady grass sites. I had to work on my car and the manager let me use his shed (my
tools though) so I didn't interrupt the other caravanners. It will be full that time of year so book ahead and I think you won't have any problems.

We stayed there end of July last year on our trip around
the block. Very nice park, clean and new ablutions. Make sure you book
well in advance. We booked 6 months in advance and tried to extend our stay but couldn't due to
Broome race round and Staircase to the Moon being in the same week.

Was in
Broome August of last year and TRIED to get into Tarangau but it was booked out - not unusual in
Broome in peak season but a good sign nonetheless. We ended up staying 3 nights at a caravan park that charged an astronomical $34 per night for a powered site. We were squeezed in along the chain link fence that faced right on to the Port road, so our alarm clock at 5am was a continuous line of road trains going to and from the Port. Very hard to take after
bush camping at
Quandong Point, on the
Cape Leveque Road, for 10 days. That was pure bliss!
