Hi Good People,
As it is a bit quiet today I have a question. Someone asked similar last week but different.
I have Oziexplorer on my laptop with a full set of Raster, Hema and UBD maps. I also have a BU353 GPS. Is it possible to set them up to provide routes along roads? Currently to establish a route is extremely difficult as you have to manually create a waypoint at every bend in the road. I think that is correct?
I use moving map which is great but it would be nice to ask it to provide detail as standard on a GPS.

Hi
No you cant auto route using Oziexplorer. You will have to get another program/mapsets.
Cheers

Hi Steve
I think you would need something like Garmin's - "nRoute" ,and use it with "Vector" maps such as "Shonky" or "T4A" which are free downloads.
You would find out more info from the "GPS Aus." site:
GPS Aus.

Hi
You wont be able to auto route using "Shonky" or "T4A" - they dont have required database/info - and besides they dont have street level detail..which would be a bit of a draw back in the city.
Garmin make a few routing products such as City Navigtator and Garmin Topo. I am not however sure if they work with nRoute...which is a discontinue product..though still available here and there.
Cheers

No worries - I know the feeling.
Nroute is a good suggestion - as is the gps australia site. I think OSM data can be downloded in a routebale form so there is some free stuff. I dont dable with it so cant help with finer details.
Trackranger does aouto routing (with certain maps) I think so thats another option.
Cheers
