At the very last minute we didn't buy a Pajero at the last towie changeover because of the problem with opening the rear door when the caravan is hitched up, We bought a Patrol instead. (I know I have heard the grenade stories)

On the way back from Bisbane airport to Bundy the other day we pulled into a servo when a current model Pajero also pulled in with a funny looking hitch linking it to his caravan. I had a chat with the driver.

His solution to the non openable rear door was solved with a $400 Hyland hitch welded/mounted to the underside of the vans A frame. I wish the Bundy Mitsub dealer had known a bit more about possible solutions. He would have made a sale rather than losing one.

I did ask on the forum for a possible solution but this Hyland hitch solution didn't pop up so I decided to post.

Sorry,

I know I should have but I didn't take any. I was so gob smacked with the solution to his/my problem, now no longer a "my problem" as the Patrol has different style of rear doors that I didn't do the obvious.

I know "I am a dip stick"

bit of a long shot finding this one that one. I am an amature. I just wanted to buy a towie.

There was a mile of web pricklies about the Pajero rear door in the vehicle magazine reviews but not one of these professionals mentioned the solution so I bought elsewhere.
